A Santa Maria guy stepped on Saturday to assist those in need in his community.
Jesus Santiago coordinated his first ever vintage vehicle show and vacation toy giveaway in partnership with the Salvation Army.
Santiago set a drive-thru lane at the parking lot on Cook Street to allow for contact-less involvement.
He said he expects to make the event bigger and better .
“I grew up in this neighborhood, I am from this neighborhood, born and raised in Santa Maria, grew up down the road here,” said Santiago. “And that my thing isn’t a kid should go with opening a gift on Christmas Day, or using a nice Christmas meal”
Santiago said he expects his”pay it forward” soul continues to distribute in Santa Maria during the holiday year and those stressful days of COVID-19.
